Introducing market intelligence cell for MSMEs is a welcome step, says Gurugram based businessman #FinanceIndia #StockMarketNEWS
Introducing market intelligence cell for MSMEs is a welcome step, says Gurugram based businessman New Delhi, Mar 4 (KNN) In a bid to boost, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country, a parliamentary panel has recommended to introduce market intelligence cell for MSMEs and cut in tax rates for proprietary as well as partnership firms from 30 per cent to 22 per cent.

The panel in its report on Demand for Grants (2020-21) also suggested that MSMEs should be allowed to have one unified Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration, which is applicable to all states.

The panel also suggested that multiple registrations with several government agencies for various purposes should be brought to an end for MSMEs.

Speaking on the same with KNN India, on Wednesday, the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) president Animesh Saxena lauded the recommendation and said, ''The market intelligence is a welcome step and if they can really do the real-time market intelligence they should provide this information to MSMEs.  Secondly, cut in tax rates for proprietary as well as partnership firms will be great support from the government if they can do it.''

‘‘It will benefit the large number of MSMEs because 97 per cent of them are in proprietorship as well as partnership firms,'' he added.

The panel in the report, also suggested that initiatives should be taken to encourage production of honey pouches for ready consumption especially in organizations like Indian Railways, Air India, hospitals, hotels and other organisations in view of its health benefits.

Production of honey pouches should also be encouraged in order to benefit village industries artisans and generate employment in the urban areas under the Honey Bee Mission in the country.

In January, this year, MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari had requested airlines to provide honey sachets as sweetener while serving tea/coffee to passengers in flights.

''Normally, one spoon of honey is equal to three spoons of sugar. Currently, refined sugar sachets are provided on board to passengers, so we are trying if we can provide honey sachets or honey cubes in flights and hotels,” Gadkari had said at his residence during an interaction with media persons.

He also added that there will be a choice of sugar or honey.
